2/14 What Matters Most

At Gateway Austin in the last few months, we’ve accepted the challenge of a new life, simplified, and imagined heaven. In our next series at Gateway South, we want to focus on what’s most important to live a life with purpose and intentionality. Inspired by the book of Colossians, this series is designed to help you realize that you matter way more than you think!

Discussion Questions

  1. Where is a place where you’ve been overwhelmed by the beauty?
  2. Has there ever been a time or place where you felt small or insignificant? If so, where were you and what happened?
  3. When was a time in your life when you felt you had your priorities in order or way out of whack? What happened?
  4. Have you ever met someone who seemed to really follow Jesus fully? What was their life like? What about their relationship with Jesus intrigued you or intimidated you?
  5. Read Colossians 1:13-14. How have you experienced freedom from the “dominion of darkness”? What has helped you live more in the light?
  6. Read Colossians 1:15-17. On Sunday it was said: “Just beyond where science doesn’t know, Jesus is there. Just beyond where you don’t understand, Jesus is there.” Where have you seen Jesus help you hold things together in your life?
  7. Read Colossians 1:21-22. How do you still get tricked or trapped in the darkness? What are your next steps out of that?
